Presbyterian Receives The Joint Commission's ‘Top Performer On Key Quality Measures®’ Recognition

November 17, 2014

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Recently four Presbyterian Healthcare Services’ hospitals were each named a 2013 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States.

The Top Performer distinction is for Presbyterian’s three Central New Mexico hospitals – Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian Rust Medical Center and Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital – which were recognized for attaining excellence in accountability measure performance for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care.*

Lincoln County Medical Center (LCMC) in Ruidoso was also named a Top Performer for pneumonia and surgical care. It was the third year in a row that LCMC was named a Top Performer.  The hospitals were recognized in The Joint Commission’s 2014 annual report “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety.”

“We are very proud of our Top Performer recognitions for 2013,” said Kathy Davis, RN, senior vice president and chief nursing officer, Presbyterian Healthcare Services. “These recognitions demonstrate our commitment to providing safe, quality care to our patients and improving positive patient outcomes through the use of evidence-based processes.”

Presbyterian’s hospitals are among 1,224 hospitals in the United States to achieve the 2013 Top Performer distinction.
